Amazing studio of brothers Ali and Hussain Almossawi. Ali is a computer scientist, and Hussain a graphic designer. Here’s a great example of design collaborating with computer science and 3d modelling.

\ndesigned by hussain almossawi of bahraini studio\u00a0skyrill design<\/a>, ‘fluid type’ is conceptualized as a dynamic typeface,\u00a0in which each character in addition to being usable as a static letter has its own exploding animation.<\/p>\n

the three-dimensional letters were first created in\u00a03D max<\/a>\u00a0and then filled with virtual fluid in the\u00a0realflow<\/a>\u00a0fluid dynamics simulator. while the character was filling, almossawi adjusted the gravity and pressure level.\u00a0afterwards, he released the original shape holding the fluid, allowing the letter to explode and splash around.\u00a0once almossawi achieved a look he liked for each animation, he adjusted the letter mesh and imported it back\u00a0to 3D max to shade and render.<\/p>\n

almossawi elaborates:
\n‘each letter required its own process based on what it looked like, [including] a lot of trial and error,\u00a0sometimes using more that one emitter, at different directions and speeds, and experimenting\u00a0with how they would collide with each other.<\/em>‘<\/p>\n
