Kac&#8217;s first transgenic artwork, titled &#8220;Genesis&#8221;&#8216; involved him taking a quote from the\u00a0<a title=\"Bible\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bible\">Bible<\/a>(<a title=\"Book of Genesis\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Book_of_Genesis\">Genesis 1:26<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; &#8220;And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth&#8221;), transferring it into<a title=\"Morse code\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Morse_code\">Morse code<\/a>, and finally, translating that Morse code (by a conversion principle specially developed by the artist for this work) into the base pairs of genetics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In what is probably his most famous work,\u00a0<em><a title=\"Alba (rabbit)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alba_(rabbit)\">Alba<\/a><\/em>, Kac commissioned a French laboratory to create a green-fluorescent\u00a0<a title=\"Rabbit\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rabbit\">rabbit<\/a>; a rabbit implanted with a\u00a0<a title=\"Green Fluorescent Protein\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Green_Fluorescent_Protein\">Green Fluorescent Protein<\/a>\u00a0(GFP)<a title=\"Gene\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gene\">gene<\/a>\u00a0from a type of\u00a0<a title=\"Jellyfish\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jellyfish\">jellyfish<\/a>.
